This week I introduced Twitter to a handful of teachers that are interested in exploring using it in education. They set up their accounts and I shared a list of some good educators to start following (This list will be constantly updated as I get chance): Twitter Teachers List

TTT4: Further exploration into Evernote
This week we looked at a few more examples of using Evernote to organise school and personal life. One of the great tools that helps make the internet and all the various applications work more smoothly is IFTTT. The IFTTT website: https://ifttt.com/, allows you to authorise various formulas. I use it to back up Instagram photos to Evernote, save Gmail emails to Evernote, and multiple other ways.
I then got colleagues to ask questions and explore some of the fantastic resources created by Bec Spink (Evernote Education Ambassador in Australia). Have a look at her website for more great ideas and links: http://becspink.com/evernote/.

TT3: A few more Google & Chrome Tools
This week we looked at a couple of Google Tools that can make your lives so much easier as teachers or in your personal life.
The Chrome Browser is fantastic and allows you to access a range of applications that are placed similar to apps on a tablet screen and add extensions to your toolbar for quick access to tools. The place to access this is through the settings on the right side of the browser. There is a range of tools to use for all areas, and it is best to explore and see what works for you.
The second main discussion was around the Google Apps for Education (GAFE). If you search for this it will take you to Google's customised site with help, step-by-step lessons and how to apply them in class. Have a look if you wish to learn more about the different tools. Fortnight: Why use Titter?

TTT 1: Google Drive and more
The first 'Tech Talk Tuesday' session went well, with about 15 staff in attendance. Some great questions and examples shared on using the 3 main applications in Google Drive - Documents, Presentation and Spreadsheet. They are the Google version of Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
They allow for fantastic collaborative practices, and cloud storage of information.

Here are some great articles on using and setting it up to get started with:

Also a staff member shared an app called 'Workflowy' that he uses to manage his to-do lists.
